Inspiring Visual Change
At Saskatoon Vision Therapy, we love to inspire our patients and show them the difference that vision therapy can make in their lives.
For many of our patients, they may feel like they don’t need therapy or that it won’t work. However, after a visit to our practice, we’re able to show them the difference vision therapy can make in their lives.
We understand that each patient is unique, with their own personal set of goals and challenges; we celebrate this! Our practice offers a variety of treatment options for patients of all ages. Receiving treatment at Saskatoon Vision Therapy is a one-of-a-kind experience we’re happy to share with all of our patients.
How Does Vision Therapy Help?
Vision therapy is beneficial for a variety of conditions. Whether it’s to help with school, work, sports, or simply navigating day to day activities, vision therapy is used to not only correct issues, but enhance visual performance
The purpose of vision therapy goes beyond simply improving vision. Vision therapy is used to improve the connection between the brain and the eyes. Boosting this connection can help increase visual comfort and enhance information processing.
Common reasons to seek vision therapy include:
- ADD/ADHD and learning problems
- Students reading below grade level
- Amblyopia (lazy eye)
- Strabismus (crossed eyes)
- Autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
- Developmental delays
- Sports injuries
- Improving athletic performance
- Brain injuries or concussions
Our Treatments
Our practice offers a variety of treatment methods to support our patients. The management strategies we offer are at the forefront of the field and support our practice’s drive for innovation. Best outcomes in Vision Therapy come from a weekly, hands-on, in-office program that we have developed and are enhanced by the following adjuncts that are a part of our programming:
Vivid Vision
Vivid Vision is an innovative virtual reality treatment. This system is used to treat and enhance many visual conditions, but is particularly beneficial to help in the treatment of amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), or convergence disorders. Vivid Vision is safe and effective for patients of all ages.
The virtual reality device corrects a patient’s weaker eye by showing them two separate images of very different quality from each other. Over time, their quality will become more similar. This process helps to correct vision issues using interactive exercises.
Neurovisual Trainer
NeuroVisual Trainer is a training platform that is both easy to use and engaging for patients. The platform has a wide variety of both video and interactive exercises. The NeuroVisual Trainer helps our team guide you through your vision therapy journey. Through improved analytics and real-time reporting, we can support our patients like never before.
VTS 4
The Visual Training System (VTS) 4 is a comfortable and fun treatment option. Patients wear a pair of glasses and view a screen. They will be asked to identify shapes and point to objects using a remote.
VTS 4 is used for the following:
- Correcting amblyopia
- Improving oculomotor skills
- Improving visual memory
- Improving accommodative facility
- Altering retinal correspondence
- Correcting strabismus
Syntonic Phototherapy
Syntonic phototherapy is a type of light therapy used to enhance a patient’s regulatory center in their brain – the hypothalamus. Lights of specific colours and wavelengths enter the patient’s eyes and travel to their brain. This process can help stimulate the brain and restore balance within the body’s nervous system.
