Our Practice in Saskatoon

Robbyn Dupuis is a compassionate, kind, enthusiastic, optimistic, adventurous, creative, and driven optometrist. She’s currently pursuing a Fellowship with the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and the University of Waterloo in 2012 as a Doctor of Optometry.

During school, she was an active member, as well as a board member, of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) International, serving on two missions to Ecuador and Morocco.

Relevant areas of interest: 

She considers herself to have a special interest in neuroplasticity. Whether it’s a learning issue, an eye turn, amblyopia, or a brain injury, she’s fascinated by the brain’s ability to create new, more efficient, and effective connections and processing patterns. Her personal experience has allowed her to witness the lasting changes of neuroplasticity, which is one of the reasons she’s so passionate about this field.

What she finds most fulfilling about working in Vision Therapy:

• Developing relationships and putting a smile on the faces of patients and their families. To give them hope. To help them build confidence in themselves and live each day just a little bit better than the day before.
• Witnessing the growth and positive changes that come from dedication, commitment, and hard work is truly a blessing. She believes that guiding and supporting others to develop and reach their greatest potential creates happiness, and increasing happiness at home in our communities is the best way for us to build a more loving place to live, and a bright future filled with dreams, goals, and endless possibilities.

Outside of work:

Robbyn loves to be an active part of the community in as many ways as possible! When she’s not at work, you can catch her walking on the Meewasin Trail or having coffee with her husband, Lee, and dog, Willow at sunrise. She also enjoys practicing yoga and meditation, dancing salsa, or having dinner and socializing with friends.

She tries to spend a good chunk of time being active outside or relaxing in nature; from cycling to paddling to fishing up north at her remote cabin on Nemeiban Lake. She’s always up for an adventure! She is also a relationship coach, as she loves to build love in her community, and has a deep curiosity about human relationships.

Shelby Borstmayer is a determined, problem-solving, active, efficient, positive, adventurous optometrist. She graduated from the University of Regina in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science and Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon with a Doctor of Optometry.

Relevant areas of interest: 

She’s very interested in vision therapy, especially working with patients with strabismus (eye turns). Sports vision enhancement is another area she’s interested in.

What she finds most fulfilling about working in Vision Therapy:

She loves celebrating each and every win with her patients, especially as they develop new visual skills and move more efficiently through their environment. Watching patients gain confidence as they become more assured and secure in their world is one of her favourite parts of Vision Therapy!

Outside of work:

Shelby loves to be active and get outside in any way possible. High-intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga, and spin are some of her favourite classes. She has a love for travel and has some big dreams for her travelling future! Hiking is another one of her passions; it’s her favourite way to explore a new area.

Spending time with her family and friends is also very important to her. She loves spending time at the lake, playing cards, and yard games. She has also recently taken up golf. Maybe you will see her on the course sometime!

Dawn is an optimistic, motivated, kind-hearted, understanding, honest, dedicated, empathetic vision therapist. She graduated from Mount Royal University with a Rehabilitation diploma and she is PVTAP Accredited (Vision Therapy Canada).

Relevant areas of interest:
Some of her earliest memories as a child include a personal draw towards helping people. She’s always been empathetic to people’s needs. Vision Therapy opened the door for her to help people and their families overcome adversity.

The challenges of working together to overcome struggles and achieve goals definitely fuels her.  She’s fulfilled by the joy in a child’s face, when they can finally read confidently, the satisfaction of an individual who has gained control over an eye turn, or the relief felt by a person on the healing journey towards managing the symptoms of a brain injury.

Outside of work:
Dawn spends her personal time with her family. She’s raised three beautiful children and cannot wait to become a gramma. She also loves to be surrounded by beautiful spaces. This includes time at the lake, long walks with her dogs, travelling, and a peaceful environment.

Rhiannon is hard-working, determined, and always has a smile on her face and a coffee in her hand!

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics. She is excited to be working with a wonderful and supportive team of professionals where she has the opportunity to learn something new every day!

Outside of her busy work and school life, Rhiannon has been training in Taekwon-Do for the past 8 years and earned her 1st degree black belt in December 2022. She plans to continue with Taekwon-Do for as long as she is able to! Rhiannon also enjoys listening to her favourite podcasts, playing music (she plays 4 instruments!), singing, and re-watching Grey’s Anatomy.
